What We Believe
We are a community rooted in grace, called to love God
and serve our neighbors in the Table Rock Lake area.
The Scriptures
We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God completely true in all that it affirms and without error as originally written, and that God has preserved his pure words to every generation. The Bible is our sole and final authority for faith and practice (I Thessalonians 2:13).
God: Father, Son & Holy Spirit
We believe in one God, the Creator of all things, existing in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Father created human beings in his own image, but Adam’s sin alienated them from God and left them unable to remedy their lost condition. The Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man without ceasing to be God in order to redeem sinful humanity. His sacrificial death on the cross accomplished our redemption from sin in all its forms, and his resurrection gave humankind a Living Savior, the only path by which we can be reconciled to God.
The Holy Spirit is God’s real, guiding presence in the lives of all believers, sealing them in the promise of redemption and reproving the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment.
(Deuteronomy 6:4; II Corinthians 13:14; Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:22-23; Ephesians 2:1-3, 12; John 1:1-2, 14; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 9:6; 7:14; Philippians 2:5-8; Galatians 4:4-5; Romans 3:24-25; I Peter 2:24; Romans 8:34; John 16:8-11; II Corinthians 3:6; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 1:13-14).
Salvation & the Priesthood of Believers
We believe that faith in our Lord Jesus Christ is the sole means of experiencing God’s grace and being redeemed from our sinful condition. Justification through faith promises eternal life to every believer. Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are the Scripturally prescribed means of affirming one’s faith within the local church. All born‑again believers have direct access to God through Jesus Christ, the only mediator between God and humankind. All people are able to profess faith in Christ, study his Word, pray for the needs of themselves and others, offer worship, and serve in His work
(John 6:37-40; 10:27-30; Romans 8:1, 38-39; I Corinthians 1:4-8; Ephesians 2:8-10; I Timothy 2:1-6; I Peter 2:5, 9; Revelation 5:9, 10).
The Church & Our Mission
We believe the local church is an independent assembly of believers who have voluntarily joined together to do God’s work in the world. Its primary purpose is to spread the gospel message of salvation through faith in Christ as taught in the New Testament. As a church, we seek to live out this mission together in worship, discipleship, fellowship, and service (Acts 14:27; 20:17, 28-32; I Timothy 3:1-13; Titus 1:5-11).
Freedom, Judgment & Christ’s Return
We believe every human being possesses the God‑given privilege of free will and cannot be forced to embrace any belief against his or her will. God communicates the message of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ to individuals through His Word and the Holy Spirit, and every person will be judged according to the beliefs and practices that he or she freely chooses. We believe that Christ will return in the future to raise the dead, judge all people, and establish his kingdom. We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men and women, the saved to eternal life, and the unsaved to final judgment and eternal separation from God.
